A Beacon of Hope in the Andes
Tucked away in the Andes Mountains near one of the world's seven wonders, Machu Picchu, is a small town called Pitumarca. According to some archaeologists, little towns like Pitumarca were significant in trading as they were located on ancient trade routes from Cusco. This pueblo is home to almost 8,000 people, and 95% of its inhabitants' first language is Quechua. The town lies 11,700 feet above sea level.
Bringing Light to Pitumarca
This past weekend, my friend and co-laborer, Luis Alberto, whom God is using greatly, visited this area. Luis, who is working with Taking the Light, delivered one of the radio transmitters that Scott Christian and Will Gordon, more great friends and co-laborers, fabricated. I thank the Lord for the people who caught our vision here at Taking the Light and helped purchase one of these transmitters. Now, a preacher who is actively trying to reach this area with the Gospel has this transmitter and is working on broadcasting Bible truth to Pitumarca. The people will receive God's truth in their language. Luis reported that the signal being transmitted was perfect.
Looking Ahead: Peru and Beyond
I am excited about what God is doing, and I am thrilled that I can play a part in this endeavor called world evangelism. Thank you for playing a part too. Now that we have transmitters set up with strategic partners throughout several places in Peru, please pray as I am seeking to return to Peru shortly. I want to follow up with our partners. I know God is at work, and I would love to help if I can or aid in any way possible. Also, I am planning our trip back to Burkina Faso in December. I am super excited about what the Lord is doing there, and I can't wait to install some of these transmitters in their villages.
Thank you for your financial support and prayers. I look forward to seeing the fruit the Lord produces. Together, let's take the Light of the Gospel into the darkness.
